Yesterday afternoon (13:40 17/10/24) the team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist with an incident in Lee Mill Quarry, Bacup.
A mountain biker had taken a bad fall and suffered a nasty lower leg injury. Whilst team members were deployed, the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) also made its way to the location, landing as our initial team members were making their way up into the quarry.
The casualty was treated by the NWAA medics before being carried a short distance to the air ambulance for onwards transportation to hospital.
