Yesterday afternoon (~15:15 9/7/25), the team were called out to Pendle Hill to assist the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) with reports of a casualty who had taken a fall and suffered facial injuries at the top of the steps.
The team was mobilised and team members deployed to the location. Shortly after the arrival of initial team members, it was confirmed that the informant had indeed (as we requested in our previous post) called back through to 999, and stated they were going to make their way off the hill and onto the hospital.
However, information from passing walkers suggested they were still on their way down the hill, so two team members went forward to meet them. After an initial assessment, the casualty was assisted the remainder of the way off the hill in the team’s ATV and dropped to their vehicle, where they were planned to head on to the hospital for further care.
Many thanks to the passerby, too, who assisted the pair by walking their dogs down so the casualty could be assisted before the team’s arrival. And as ever, we wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
