As they say, when it rains, it pours! 6 deployments over 6 days last week.
🚨 Callout 48
On Friday afternoon, Bolton Mountain Rescue Team were requested to assist Greater Manchester Police with a search for a missing person on the border of our area; due to the vicinity to their home address, one of our ATLs (Assistant team leader) offered a hand. This was limited team involvement and a full team request was not required.
🚨 Callout 49
On Sunday afternoon (12:30, 13/7/25), the team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist with a casualty who had become injured whilst walking their dog at Hurstwood Reservoir, Burnley.
Team members were deployed and made their way to the location. As the team vehicle arrived, equipment was taken to the casualty’s location at the far side of the reservoir. The casualty was then provided with some much-needed pain relief before the injury was splinted; the team then transferred the patient onto the bell stretcher and wheel to be evacuated approximately 1.5km, down to the car park to await an ambulance.
Quick shout out to Sean from Oldham who travelled a little further than usual to assist us on this job, along with all those who assisted to keep the casualty as comfortable as possible on what was a very warm day in the sun before we arrived.
