CALLOUT 55

On Thursday evening (~17:00 14/8/25), the team was contacted to assist the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) with a teenager who had come off their bike near Greenbooth Reservoir.

Team members were mobilised and met with NWAS colleagues on scene, who were dealing with the casualty who had taken a substantial fall/tumble when coming off their mountain bike.

As the team vehicle arrived, specialist equipment was taken to the casualty’s location, where they were then packaged into the vacuum mattress (a full body splint) and then onto our stretcher. This was then placed onto the wheel for evacuation ~750m across the dam and up the embankment to the awaiting ambulance.

Thanks to the United Utilities workers at the site, who enabled additional access and closer parking for initial team members. As ever, we wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
