Busy weekend? It has been for the team!

On Saturday afternoon (11/10/25 ~14:15), the team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist with an incident at Bacup motocross centre (MX Track Bacup).
Team members were deployed; however, as the North West Air Ambulance Charity (air ambulance) arrived on scene, they confirmed they would be able to deal with the extraction without further assistance as they landed next to the casualtyβs location and planned for them to be flown to the hospital for further care.

Sunday afternoon (~13:45 12/10/25), the team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, NWAS, once more, this time for a mountain biker who had suffered a serious fall. The NWAS crew were on scene but required assistance in evacuating the casualty back to the ambulance.
Due to the number of our volunteers available and what could end up being a technical rescue, a request was made to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team to assist, and joint working between the teams safely evacuated the biker to the ambulance.

Later on Sunday evening (19:30 12/10/25), the team were contacted by Greater Manchester Police with an incident involving a missing 13-year-old on Holcombe Moor. The team were deployed along with multiple other assets from the region, including both Bolton Mountain Rescue Team and Mid-Pennine Search and Rescue dogs (Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England), alongside multiple other resources from the statutory emergency services.
Fortunately, at around 21:30, there was a successful find by some of our team members. Having used their local knowledge, they located the casualty safe and well (if not a little cold) around, and they were assisted off the moors before being reunited with their family in Holcombe village at ~22:15.
