CALLOUT 04 – Call to assist NWAS
February 9, 2026CALLOUT 03
Between the time when volunteers got home from the spine race in the early hours of Sunday morning (see previous post), and when anyone else would have woken up for their Sunday morning eggs on toast, the team were contacted to assist the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS).
We received an alert just after 05:45 on Sunday, 11/01/2026, requesting to assist two crews who were struggling to safely convey a patient to the hospital due to ice and snow
Team members were deployed and mobilised towards Bacup to assist. Whilst travelling to the location, further details were received that both crews (along with the patient) had been able to get themselves to safety without additional assistance.
