CALLOUT 38

Yesterday afternoon (~13:30 28/05/25) a local team member was contacted directly and informed of someone sustaining a lower leg injury in the vicinity of Wycoller Country Park. They passed this onto our duty leader (and the police) and in as such we initiated a callout to our team members. Our volunteers began making their way towards the location, whilst local team members headed to the area to try and locate the injured party.

The casualty, who had suffered an injury to their lower leg, was located at the top end of the clough in Wycoller. Team members splinted the leg before assisting them onto a stretcher. A short carry to the nearest road and they were then transported back to their own vehicle, where they planned to make their own way onto hospital for further assessment.

Note: whilst thanks for the initiative of the passers by for requesting help for the casualty, this is certainly NOT our usual callout method – if involved or come across an incident where MRT are required, call 999 and ask for the Police, then Mountain Rescue.
