Yesterday afternoon (~16:45 31/5/25), the team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist with a mountain biker who was injured at Lee Mill Quarry.
Team members were mobilised and met with the NWAS crew on scene, where they were treating a casualty who had suffered a potentially serious leg injury whilst riding through the lower wooded area of the bike trials.
The casualty’s leg was splinted, and they were being provided with pain relief by the crew. Once the appropriate equipment and personnel arrived at the location, the casualty was placed onto the bell stretcher and then continued down the bike track (somewhat slower than on a bike!) to the awaiting ambulance.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
