CALLOUT 57
This afternoon (30/6/21) at just before 1 pm, the team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust to assist with a casualty who had sustained a potentially serious leg injury in the Rochdale / Heywood area, near Ashworth Valley Scout Camp.
Our team’s volunteers were mobilised along with the North West Air Ambulance Charity and also requested assistance from our colleagues in Bolton Mountain Rescue Team due to the low numbers of volunteers available during the workday.
The air ambulance landed nearby and treated the casualty, shortly before being joined by team members from ourselves and Bolton at the scene. The casualty was then packaged onto our Bell Stretcher along with its wheel before being carried to the awaiting team vehicles and a final transfer to the ambulance for onward transport to the hospital.
This has been the 57th deployment of the team, and the 63rd contact from the statutory emergency services requesting the team’s assistance so far in 2021!
