Yesterday evening, (18:20 15/6/21) the team were contacted by Greater Manchester Police to assist with a multi-agency response to an incident in the Heywood area.
Our team’s volunteers were deployed along with our water team’s assets to what was a rapidly developing incident.
Two of the team’s response vehicles arrived at the location and further personnel went directly to the location. Fortunately, whilst on scene and awaiting confirmation of search tasking’s, there was a confirmed sighting of the missing person elsewhere and once the police were happy that the team’s assistance was no longer required, the team were stood down.
The team returned to base at approximately 20:30, returned and sorted equipment so ready to deploy again.
Later in the evening, Rossendale GMP posted good news that the incidence had been resolved with a positive outcome, thanks to public help and support.
The Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team is a fully voluntary organisation which responds to those in need in our local community.
